Libyan government dismiss rebel ceasefire 'trick'

The Libyan government has dismissed an offer of a ceasefire as a "trick" after the chairman of the rebel Transitional National Council, Mustafa Abdul Jalil, said it would agree to one if Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's troops withdrew from cities.

The Libyan government spokesman, Moussa Ibrahim, said the rebels demands were "impossible".

He condemned international military action in Libya and urged leaders to withdraw from the conflict immediately.
