Hope of Gbagbo 'surrender' spreads
News that generals loyal to Ivory Coast's besieged President Laurent Gbagbo are negotiating terms for his surrender has been greeted with weary relief, according to the BBC's Andrew Harding near Abidjan.
But troops loyal to Mr Gbagbo's rival, UN-recognised President Alassane Ouattara, are in "no mood for a ceasefire" and will only accept a complete surrender, he added.
People continued to flee Abidjan on Tuesday, some walking with their hands above their heads, others holding whatever possessions they could carry.
