Kenya and Uganda leaders keeping power from the people

Kenyans are facing continual rises in the price of fuel and food, but so far only small groups have taken to the streets to protest.

For decades demonstrations were banned and any gathering was swiftly quashed by the security forces - a tactic still used in neighbouring Uganda.

The authorities are concerned about protesters taking inspiration from the uprisings in the Middle East, but there is little sign of any power being allowed to trickle down to the people.

Will Ross reports from Nairobi.
