Tear gas fired at opposition after Uganda inauguration

Uganda's Yoweri Museveni has been sworn in for a fourth term as president, as thousands of opposition supporters turned out to welcome his rival Kizza Besigye home.

Dr Besigye sought medical treatment in Kenya after being injured when he was arrested during anti-government protests.

He is a former ally of Mr Museveni, who has been in power since 1986.

Security was tight, especially on the 40km (25 mile) road between the capital, Kampala, and Entebbe airport.

The BBC's Will Ross was on the outskirts of Kampala with opposition supporters when he witnessed tear gas being fired to try and disperse them.
