Libya conflict: Sirte situation 'deteriorating fast'

Fierce fighting in Sirte has resulted in many injuries to troops loyal to Libya's transitional government, with many casualties being airlifted to hospitals in Misrata.

Red Cross spokeswoman Dibeh Fakhr told Caroline Hawley, "the last time we were there, there were only three doctors left" in the city's hospital.

She estimates some 20,000 people left the city before the main assault began on Friday, but "we are extremely concerned" for the civilians left behind.
