Libyans return to the boxing ring after Gaddafi-era ban

A group of veteran Libyan boxers have opened the first boxing club in the country since the sport was outlawed.

Libya's former leader Col Muammar Gaddafi banned the sport in the 1970s describing it as a savage practice.

Permission for the new club has only been recently granted but classes have already started and are free of charge.

Many of the new students are the sons of former boxers.

The BBC's Ghada Nassef reports.
