Nigeria seeks climate change aid

Fighting climate change is not a luxury but a necessity, even in difficult economic times, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has said.

His comments came as negotiators at the Durban Climate Change talks continued to wrangle over The Green Climate Fund.

The fund will eventually collect and disburse sums of $100bn (£64bn) per year to poor countries to help them tackle global warming.

Nigeria is one nation seeking aid to help it cope with the effects of the changing environment.
