How has globalisation affected African football?
The effects of football are felt on many different levels - cultural, social, economic and political.
Gabon's National Institute of Youth and Sport and the French Institute in Libreville organised a conference on globalisation and sports to coincide with the Africa Cup of Nations which the country is co-hosting with Equatorial Guinea.
One of the participants was Professor Thierry Terret, from the University Claude Bernard in Lyon, France, who is a leading authority in the politics of sports.
BBC Africa's Manuel Toledo met him in Libreville and started by asking him how globalisation has affected the continent's beautiful game.
