Ola Onabule sings of 'Great Expectations'

British-Nigerian singer and songwriter Ola Onabule is someone who does not like to be pigeonholed into a specific style or image.

He set up his own record company after disagreements with the major label he was signed to about his artistic direction and identity.

In his most recent album, Seven Shades of Darker, he combines sounds from different musical schools such as soul, jazz and reggae.

He told BBC Africa's presenter Bola Mosuro that he chose that name for the album because it is his seventh one and because "getting a bit older you kind of view the world through a slightly darker set of shades".
