South Africa mine workers dismiss deadline
Roughly 30% of workers at the platinum mine in South Africa, where 34 miners were shot dead by police last Friday, have returned to work according to the company, Lonmin.
The miners have been warned they will be dismissed if they do not end their strike over wages.
Monday marks the start of a week of national mourning over the incident, and up to 1,000 workers have accused LONMIN of insensitivity for trying to force the issue now, adding that they will not be going back to work.
