Life inside home city of militant Muslim group Boko Haram

The city of Maiduguri in North East Nigeria is home to the militant Muslim group Boko Haram which has been fighting for Sharia (Islamic law) and has been engaged in a bloody insurgency against the Nigerian state.

Access to the city is usually restricted for journalists, but the BBC has managed to get into Maiduguri secretly, to record what life is like for citizens caught up in the crossfire.

The identity of the BBC journalist is hidden for safety reasons but Mark Lobel takes up the story.
