Sudan tensions ease as President Omar al-Bashir visits South

President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan has ordered the border with South Sudan to be opened, during his first visit since it gained independence.

Tensions between the two countries have been strained since the separation in 2011 and brought them to the brink of war in 2012.

Relations have eased in recent weeks but disagreements over oil and territory continue.
