Toumani Diabate and Arnaldo Antunes on Malian-Brazilian fusion

London's Latin music festival La Linea opened over the weekend with a concert by the great Malian kora player Toumani Diabate and Brazilian musicians Arnaldo Antunes and Edgard Scandurra.

They recently recorded together a CD called A Curva Da Cintura (The Waist's Curve), which combines Malian and Brazilian tunes with rock and blues.

BBC Africa's Manuel Toledo spoke to Toumani Diabate and Arnaldo Antunes after the concert.

He started by asking the Brazilian poet and songwriter how different this collaboration was from other Afro-Brazilian projects.
