Nigeria's 'sci-fi' percussionist The Venus Bushfires
Nigerian-born percussionist, singer and songwriter Helen Parker-Jayne Isibor is known on the London music scene as The Venus Bushfires.
The musician, who moved to the UK when she was seven years old, is also renowned for her unusual hair style and the strange Swiss-made, UFO-shaped instrument she plays called the hang.
She says she draws inspiration from musical pioneers such as Nigerian superstar Fela Kuti but that her influences are not just African, they are British too.
When she visited BBC Africa in London, presenter Sophie Ikenye asked her how she first came to play the hang.
