Zanu-PF confident of victory in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's justice minister Chinamasa Patrick has suggested that President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF party is heading for a landslide victory in the country's presidential elections.

It comes as the two leading African observer groups have said the elections were free and peaceful,

African Union mission head Olusegun Obasanjo dismissed complaints of fraud, while another observer urged all parties to "accept the hard facts".

A local monitoring group said earlier the poll was "seriously compromised".

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has dismissed the poll as a "huge farce".

No results of the presidential vote have been officially announced.
