Zimbabwe President Mugabe re-elected amid fraud claims

The electoral commission in Zimbabwe has declared that President Robert Mugabe has won a seventh term in office.

Mr Mugabe, 89, won 61% of the vote.

The main opposition party, led by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, has already called the election a "sham" alleging there was massive fraud and says it will not accept the result.

William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, commended the Zimbabwean people for a peaceful election, but said he was concerned about voting irregularities.
