Nelson Mandela's guerrilla war training

In 1962, Nelson Mandela embarked on a secret trip around Africa to look for support for the African National Congress (ANC) and its armed struggle.

He asked African leaders to provide military training - and, as the commander-in-chief of Umkhonto we Sizwe, he was also taught how to be a soldier.

Tesfaye Abebe was stationed in the Ethiopian police barracks where Mr Mandela was trained and told the BBC about his memories of the ANC leader's stay.
