Minister evades BBC question over Kenya mall warning

Kenya's interior minister has refused to answer a question about possible intelligence failings in the wake of the Westgate shopping centre attack.

At a news conference in Nairobi, Joseph Ole Lenku brushed aside a suggestion that prior intelligence information should have alerted the Kenyan government to the possibility of a major terrorist attack in the capital.

Dismissing a question from a BBC reporter, he said intelligence issues were confidential and would not be discussed in public.
