Translating medicine into art: Foreign Bodies, Common Ground

For an exhibition in London artists were invited to work alongside scientists in research centres in Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam and the UK.

Research into developing medicine is crucial for advancing global healthcare. For example, finding a vaccine against malaria would save millions of lives.

But this research is at times met with scepticism in some local communities all over the world - and it was these issues the artists were asked to explore.

BBC Africa's Sophie Ikenye has been to the Wellcome Collection where the series of works resulting from these artist residencies is being shown.
