Crowds in Cape Town for Nelson Mandela memorial

The BBC's Karen Allen reports on the atmosphere in Cape Town where people have gathered to watch the Nelson Mandela memorial service on a big screen.

She said there were around 2,000 people in front of City Hall for the service, at the site where Nelson Mandela made his first speech after he was released from prison.

The national memorial service for the former president is taking place in Johannesburg.
