S Sudan: Evidence of atrocities on both sides, says UN

The United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights, Ivan Šimonović, has told the BBC he has strong evidence that both sides in the conflict in South Sudan were involved in atrocities.

Mr Šimonović has been visiting various parts of South Sudan on a fact finding mission to prepare a report for the UN Security Council on the level of atrocities committed in the current crisis, which began in December.
