Kenya unease over 'al-Shabab recruiter' killing

It is still unclear who shot dead radical Muslim cleric Abubakar Shariff Ahmed in Kenya on Tuesday.

He was shot outside the coastal city of Mombasa, police and witnesses say, his corpse showing wounds to the head and body.

Mr Shariff, known as Makaburi, had been listed by the UN as a recruiter for the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab group.

There are fears the killing could spark uprisings.

Tommy Oladipo reports.
