Central African Republic: Imam and bishop seek peace

The United Nations and aid agencies have launched a £300m appeal to help refugees fleeing from the fighting in the Central African Republic.

The country has been tipped into chaos since a mainly Muslim rebel coalition seized power a year ago, abused the majority Christian population and set off waves of revenge attacks, which have driven great numbers of Muslims out of the country.

But the terrible conflict has brought forth two remarkable peacemakers as the BBC's Tim Whewell reports for BBC Newsnight.

This film was first broadcast on Newsnight on Wednesday 16 April 2014.
