Oscar Pistorius defence 'not a conspiracy'

Oscar Pistorius' defence case relies on "objective evidence" and is not based on "conspiracies", the South African's lawyer has said.

Defence barrister Barry Roux refuted remarks made by the prosecution during its closing statements in the trial of the 27-year-old.

Mr Roux told the court: "We are not saying 'conspiracy'... what you cannot do is make the accused a liar, because of the disturbance of the scene by the police."

Mr Pistorius denies murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year.
