This report contains some upsetting images from the very start.

It has been the deadliest week this year for migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean from Africa.

The United Nations Refugee Agency says at least 300 people have lost their lives in the last few days alone.

Since the beginning of the year almost 2,000 would be migrants have drowned as they left the coastlines of Morocco, Tunisia and Libya on overloaded unsafe boats.
