Severe flooding in Malawi and Mozambique kills at least 42

Severe flooding in Malawi and Mozambique has killed at least 42 people and left thousands homeless.

Both countries have declared a state of emergency after torrential rain submerged parts of the two countries.

The president of Malawi, Peter Mutharika, has said foreign aid is required urgently.
