Ghana's power shortages take their toll

Power outages are a fact of life across much of Africa, with almost daily black-outs affecting rich and poor countries alike.

South Africa's power utility top officials have been suspended over power shortages - and early this year more more than half of Kenya suffered a power outage after a major transmission line failed.

Meanwhile Ghana is in the midst of the longest power crisis the country has ever known.
