Burundi president 'will run for a third term'

Burundi's President Pierre Nkurunziza can run for a third term, according to the country's constitutional court.

Ahead of the ruling, the vice-president of the court fled the country, saying he faced intense pressure, including death threats, to approve the move and that four of the seven judges initially said the president's bid was illegal, but were pressured into changing their minds.

The president's spokesman, Gervais Abayeho, told the BBC it was wrong of the judge to leak information about the court's decision and that the president would definitely stand again.
