Eritrea celebrates 25 years of independence from Ethiopia

The east African country of Eritrea is celebrating 25 years since it became independent from Ethiopia and the milestone is being marked with street parades in the capital Asmara.

However, more people apply for asylum in the EU from Eritrea than any other African country as it is widely criticised for human rights abuses.
