Soweto uprising: The students who changed South Africa
On 16 June 1976, thousands of South African students took to the streets of Soweto to protest against white-minority rule. Hundreds were killed in the police response, which profoundly changed the country’s social and political landscape.
The BBC's Chris Parkinson has returned to the same streets with a survivor of those events, as well as students from a local Soweto school to hear what happened and how things have changed.
