Timbuktu : The rescue of vital ancient manuscripts

Following a landmark trial at the International Criminal Court in the Hague, an Islamist militant will be sentenced on Tuesday for destroying cultural sites in Timbuktu.

During a rebel occupation in 2012 thousands of ancient manuscripts were evacuated and saved.

The BBC's Anna Holligan has been speaking to the Dutch organisation that helped with the rescue operation.
