Children in Nigeria starving to death, says UN

The United Nations is warning that hundreds of thousands of people in northern Nigeria are suffering from acute malnutrition.

The region has seen years of fighting between government forces and the Islamist rebel group Boko Haram.

The UN is appealing for $1bn (£793m) in humanitarian aid for the area.
