A national unity authority for Zimbabwe?

Zimbabwean academic Ibbo Mandaza is part of the Platform for Concerned Citizens (PCC) which is calling for a national unity authority to take control of the country.

He said the PCC is proposed a national transitional authority made up of "non-partisan and technocratic Zimbabweans" who would take charge of the state for two years, during which time there would be political reforms.

Mr Mandaza told BBC Hardtalk's Stephen Sackur it would be "a hard sell" but the time had come to "transcend Zanu-PF factionalism".

You can see the Hardtalk interview in full on Tuesday 21 November on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel and after on BBC iPlayer (UK only)
