Kenya: How Twala women in Laikipia have turned a cactus into biogas profit

Communities in Laikipia, northern Kenya are pastoralists but for more than a decade now, an invasive species of cactus plant has remained a thorn in their flesh.

The plant is causing deaths to livestock while suppressing pasture growth. But Twala women have found a way of using the invasive plant to make money while conserving their environment.
