Is Kim Jong-un ready to lead North Korea?

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has died at the age of 69, state-run television has announced.

The official news agency KCNA described one of his sons, Kim Jong-un, as the "great successor" whom North Koreans should unite behind.

Kim Jong-un, who is thought to be in his late 20s, has risen to a very senior general despite having no reported military experience.
