John Simpson looks back at the Kim Jong-il era

The man who led North Korea, one of the world's most secretive countries for almost two decades has died suddenly.

State media said Kim Jong il had suffered a heart attack during a train journey on Saturday. His young son has been hailed as the so-called great successor.
