Kazakhstan holds parliamentary elections

People in Kazakhstan have been voting in parliamentary elections. The pro-government Nur Otan party, is widely expected to win a landslide victory.

However, for the first time the second-place party will now be guaranteed seats in the chamber even if it fails to cross a 7% vote threshold.

The poll came less than a month after riots in which at least 16 people died.

The BBC's Rayhan Demytrie reports.
