Pakistan avalanche: 'We are keeping our fingers crossed'

At least 100 Pakistani troops have been buried by an avalanche in the disputed Kashmir region, the army says.

The avalanche hit a military camp near the Siachen glacier in the Karakoram branch of the Himalaya mountains, to which both India and Pakistan lay claim.

Spokesman for Pakistan's army, Major General Athar Abbas, told the BBC some bodies had been recovered but it was too early to tell how many people had survived.
