Pakistan jail raid frees hundreds

Almost 400 inmates have escaped from a prison in north-west Pakistan after it was attacked by militants, officials in the region have said.

Pakistan's Taliban say they carried out the attack, in which several "dangerous" insurgents were released, but the claim has not been verified.

Orla Guerin said the militants who carried out the attack headed straight for the area housing death row prisoners.
