Ai Weiwei: China 'has no basic legal process'
Ai Weiwei has claimed China "doesn't have a basic legal process" following his failed appeal against a tax evasion fine.
The dissident artist accused the government of trying to maintain stability "by stopping people speaking the truth" after he was told of the court's decision.
Police barred Mr Ai from attending the court in Beijing's Chaoyang district to hear the verdict delivered.
Tax authorities imposed a 15m yuan ($2.4m, £1.5m) fine on Mr Ai's firm for tax evasion in 2011.
