Sri Lanka: Locals trained to clear a million landmines

It is estimated there are more than a million landmines in the north of Sri Lanka, which were buried during the country's 25 years of conflict.

Major efforts to clear the mines are underway, but it is a dangerous task that requires thorough training.

Some of those being trained now are from the local Tamil people including many women, as Charles Haviland reports.
