Diwali: Hindu celebrations under way worldwide

Thousands of homes and shops have been decorated with lights as Hindus across the world start celebrating Diwali.

Firecrackers are also set off as the annual five-day festival of light which honours the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, gets into full swing.
