Low-tech Subbuteo looks for revival in high-tech Japan

It was the game that pitted two teams of tiny plastic footballers against one another, with moments of triumph and despair played out on dining tables across much of the world in the 1970's and 80's.

Subbuteo once pioneered the world of football gaming, yet once computer games arrived on the scene, many former fans showed a red card to the game they once loved.

Despite this, die-hard fans stuck with it, and now a small band of enthusiasts are hoping to lead a revival of this distinctly low-tech game in Asia.
