Son on Bangladesh Islamist Ghulam Azam guilty verdict

Ghulam Azam's son, Salam Al Azami, has said that the trial against his father was entirely politically motivated.

"This court has once again proved that this is a political show-trial by a political party which has no legitimacy... and we have been deprived of a fair justice", he told the BBC.

A court found that Ghulam Azam orchestrated mass killings during Bangladesh's war of independence in 1971.

Lucy Hockings spoke to Salam Al Azami on BBC World News.
