Typhoon Utor most powerful to hit Philippines this year

The most powerful typhoon to hit the Philippines this year has caused landslides and floods, leaving at least one person dead, officials say.

With gusts of up to 185km/h, Typhoon Utor has cut transport and communications links and is expected to move on to China next.
