Minister on Australia wildfires: "Thing are heating up'

Authorities in Australia have warned that more homes and lives could be lost, as wildfires continue to rage across parts of New South Wales.

Firefighters have been trying to prevent the fires spreading, but high temperatures, low humidity and strong winds of up to 100km/h (60mph) are forecast for Wednesday.

Minister for Police and Emergency Services Michael Gallacher told the BBC that the weather had provide a brief respite overnight but that things were "heating up."
