Bangladesh polling stations torched on eve of election
At least 100 polling stations in some 20 districts around Bangladesh, including in the capital, Dhaka, have been set on fire ahead of Sunday's election.
The arson attacks coincide with the start of a two-day general strike organised by the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party, which is boycotting the vote.
The BBC's Mahfuz Sadique, reporting from Dhaka, says western governments have repeatedly asked the government to postpone or cancel the election.
