Slavery on Thailand's fishing trawlers

Thailand's fishing industry is partly reliant on human trafficking, human rights groups have claimed.

The country is the third largest exporter of seafood in the world, supplying supermarkets in Europe, America and Japan, but vessels can struggle to find enough labour locally.

Workers from poorer neighbours, Cambodia and Myanmar, are regularly used to supplement crews - often with men who have been sold and forced to work as slaves.
