Afghan elections: Opinions from the street

Afghans are going to the polls to elect a new president on Saturday 5 April.

Ahead of the vote BBC Persian set up an open microphone in two Afghan cities - Herat in the west, and Mazar e Sharif, in the north.

They asked local people to share their thoughts, hopes and fears about the election.
