Social pressure on Indian women to forgive rapists
The horrific rape and murder of a young Delhi student in December 2012 prompted a lot of national soul searching about how women are treated in Indian society.
On the surface, attitudes to women in the north eastern state of Mizoram seem progressive.
The majority of women in Mizoram are educated and in employment, perhaps explaining why they seem more ready to report violence and rape against them.
But as the BBC's Divya Arya reports from the capital, Aizawl, there is huge social pressure on women to forgive rapists.
